English Archers were some of the deadliest warriors of the Middle Ages, and their fearsome weapon – the English longbow – was a marvel of engineering. if the archers were attacked they would need a close range weapon to defend themselves with. This weapon would later be referred to as an Archer’s Sword.
Many English Archers had been drawn from the peasantry in order to bolster the ranks of the army. The swords they had access to were typically quite simple and required little training to use. This sword is very well balance with a half blood groove or fuller. The pommel is round with a small Hilt to provide proper balance. The handle is wood covered with cooper wire to give a strong grip. The blade is fully tempered and comes with a wood covered with leather scabbard. Leather scabbard included. Overall length of 30-1/2" with a high carbon forged 24-1/2" blade.
